Alexandria & S'mores!
Once again, the Wednesday Upper King Street market was toasty and hot - with temps rising about 95 degrees! Fortunately we had lots of cool and creamy s'mores ice cream sandwiches for the troops that trudged out in the heat to see us. Ashley outdid herself this week with this combo. Get this... fluffy marshmallow ice cream layered between two (don't forget homemade) graham crackers and dipped in bittersweet chocolate. They are DIVINE! The moment I bit into one, I had visions of campfires, giant gourmet marshmallows and perfect summers - all at once!

Oakton on Saturdays
This week we snagged little press in the Oakton newsletter...
This Week at the Market
For those of you who haven't tried the ice-cream sandwiches from our new vendor, Sweet Bite Creamery, they sent me this to include in the newsletter this week. I couldn't have said it better myself!
"Sweet Bite Creamery (SBC) is now with us every week offering homemade, gourmet ice-cream sandwiches using local and all-natural ingredients, including hormone-free milk, eggs from Scenic View and herbs from Truck Patch Farms. SBC actually makes the cookies, and they make the ice cream! This will be the last week for their summer fruit (and wildly popular) flavors -- minted lemon blackberry (with blackberries from our own Tyson Farms) & honey ginger cantalope, but we can look forward to lots of great autumn inspired flavors.
In addition to these favorites, this week they have chocolate chunk banana -- a gooey chocolate chunk cookie with fresh banana ice cream; lavender-scented shortbreads filled with creamy honey-rose ice cream; and chocolate mint macarons with fresh local mint ice cream. Ashley & Tricia, the bakers and ice-cream makers, would love to hear what flavors you might be interested in -- they love to talk ice cream and cookies. Stop by and give their wholesome frozen treats a try or just give them some ideas!"

Showing off our flavors in Alexandria!
We love talking to our customers about our flavors! Ashley made sure to let these folks know all about our fresh, local ingredients including the amazing red plums from Tysons Farms that created a brilliant pink ice cream for our plum shortcakes! And the fresh Maryland cantalope in our Honey Ginger Cantalope cookies.
